4. What PlusGST uses today
In practice, this is what the site and the app place in your browser:
- Analytics: Google Tag Manager loads on every page, and through it Google Analytics 4, which sets its own cookies to measure visits.
- Advertising: the Meta Pixel loads on the same pages and records which ones are visited, so Meta can measure PlusGST’s ads. Meta sets its own cookies for this.
- Product Hunt: the footer of every public page shows the “Find us on Product Hunt” badge, an image drawn by Product Hunt’s server with the current vote count. Loading it sends Product Hunt the request, as any image host receives it, including your IP address and that it came from plusgst.com. It runs no script on PlusGST.
- Signing in: your signed-in session is kept by Firebase Authentication in your browser’s storage, so you stay signed in between visits.
- Preferences: the business and the financial year you last worked in are remembered in your browser’s local storage.
PlusGST does not currently show a cookie banner or a consent tool. You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings.
